Genevieve Kela, MD

Dr. Kela received her medical degree from the University of Buea in Cameroon, Africa. She completed her Residency in Internal Medicine at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT, gaining invaluable patient care experience through internships at Griffin Hospital, Yale New Haven Hospital, The University of Connecticut Hospital, and Regions Hospital in Minnesota. These experiences provided hands-on training in many medical fields, including Emergency Medicine, Gastroenterology/Hepatology, Urology/OB-GYN, and Endocrinology. Her work and research experience has provided her with a wealth of knowledge in chronic disease and preventative health. From her experience in her internships, she found that Endocrinology was a passion she wanted to further pursue. She took a Fellowship position at UMass Baystate in their Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism program, which she completed in 2026.

Personally, Dr. Kela loves to dance and travel. She also loves to plan events, and if she did not pursue medicine, would be an event planner.
