About the PACT-Hartford Healthcare Alliance
Physicians Alliance of Connecticut (PACT) is a multi specialty medical group that is led and operated by over 30 physician partners and more than 100 healthcare providers. We are committed to excellence, innovation, safety and quality in private-practice patient care in southern Connecticut.
By taking care of business operations so that our members can concentrate on patient care, PACT is preserving and strengthening private medical practice in the greater New Haven area. Each PACT member is given an equal voice and each practice is given as much autonomy as allowed by the law. By becoming a “division” of PACT, our member practices retain their autonomy while sharing in the numerous benefits of a multi-specialty group. Extensive management services are provided for all PACT members through our sister organization, PACT Management Service Organization (PACT MSO).
In short, PACT and PACT MSO were created to preserve and grow independent private practices, allowing physicians the time they need to provide high quality, cost-effective care to their patients.

Why Join PACT?
For several years, financial and regulatory changes have converged to jeopardize the existence of private, independent practices. At PACT, a partner of Hartford HealthCare, we see continued value in private medical practices, both to patients in terms of a more personal experience and to physicians in terms of work fulfillment and quality of life.
PACT, a partner of Hartford HealthCare was established as Physicians Alliance of Connecticut (PACT) in 2013 to rebuild and preserve private medical practice in Connecticut. We are a multi-specialty physician group in which every member has a voice and each division is given as much autonomy as allowed by law. In 2020 we began operating under the Hartford HealthCare umbrella as an independent medical practice. This partnership, which maintains our values and approach, strengthens our resources and geographic reach. The results of our approach can be seen in financial benefits, increased efficiency and time savings, and ultimately an improved work/life balance.
Practice management benefits include:
Autonomy
Embrace independence
The PACT’s operating agreement endows each division with as much decision-making authority as allowed by applicable law.
Financial Benefits
Keep your practice viable and lucrative
PACT members benefit from a wide variety of services that can support your bottom line.
Quality of Life
Focus on what you do best
Every time providers adapt to new requirements, the rules change. PACT proactively manages responses to new regulations and unforeseen events so physicians can focus on what they do best: patient care.
Efficiency & Time Savings
Increase productivity
With PACT, business management tasks that occupy your mind and time are handled for you. This frees you up to see more patients and spend more time with them.
Technology Development & Support
Access technical support 24/7, 365 days a year
With ongoing computer-based changes in the healthcare field, medical practices are spending more and more of their time and resources on technology, including electronic health records systems, that can help providers improve efficiency, comply with industry requirements, add new lines of service, and achieve higher standards of care. However, particularly as they increase in complexity, these technology requirements can reduce profitability and distract physicians from serving patients’ medical needs. With Hartford HealthCare’s support, PACT helps support practices as they implement and troubleshoot new services and technologies.

Practice Management Services (MSO)
On the most basic level, PACT members are aligned with other like-minded physicians who aim to preserve private practice in southern Connecticut.
But PACT members have access to additional services via our sister company, PACT Managed Service Organization (PACT MSO). PACT MSO provides medical practices in the New Haven Connecticut area with numerous advantages that increase efficiency, reduce administrative distractions, and increase or restore autonomy.

How to Become a Member
PACT is looking to grow its membership and resources by adding selected practices and ancillary services on a gradual and limited basis. Our goal is to improve member benefits that are related to increased size while remaining small and nimble enough to anticipate industry changes and provide proactive customer service.
To make sure PACT and new member practices are a good fit, prospective members are evaluated in a process covering legal, financial and operations due diligence. This free, confidential and no-obligation practice review is conducted by PACT MSO. Following this review, if there is mutual interest in moving forward, there is a one-time membership fee for each physician and monthly management fees that are tied to practice collections.
