About Provider

A lifelong resident of New England, Dr. Simon graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University, where his interest in the biologic sciences motivated him to pursue a career in medicine. He received his M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was fascinated by the basic mechanisms of disease. After graduating from the Yale-New Haven Hospital Internal Medicine Internship/Residency program, a love of the underlying physiology of the kidney carried him into a Nephrology Fellowship at the Yale University School of Medicine, where he remained as an assistant professor of medicine for several years. Working in the laboratory of renowned geneticist Dr. Richard Lifton, Dr. Simon deciphered the genetic basis of several diseases affecting blood pressure and electrolyte homeostasis and published a series of papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Wanting to return to clinical medicine, Dr. Simon left academia to join a large nephrology practice in New Haven. In 2008, he and two colleagues were founding partners in a new nephrology practice, Connecticut Kidney Center, opening four office locations and three new dialysis centers. Understanding the rapidly changing environment in healthcare, in 2011 Dr. Simon joined a group of physicians to create a new multi-specialty group, Physicians Alliance of Connecticut (PACT) and a management services organization, PACT MSO. Connecticut Kidney Center joined PACT in 2013 and has continued to expand with five nephrologists, three mid-level providers and a fourth dialysis center. Dr. Simon has been honored to serve as a founding board member and chief executive officer of PACT and PACT MSO for the past three years.
